Pastor
A. M. Simmons
On behalf of Faith Tabernacle Church (FTC), I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to our website. FTC is a growing congregation made up of members with diverse backgrounds. We are made up of people who were non-church members, as well as, those with denominational ties looking for a closer, more fulfilling walk with God and a small minority who just felt the draw of God to FTC from other Pentecostal churches. Whoever we were has been displaced by the present blessings and favor of God, which has united us together to be an evangelistic force in this millennial age.
FTC will celebrate (this year), thirty-seven years of evangelism and ministry. This ministry started from the visionary mind of Founding Pastor James Brock and he having started five works for the Lord through much of the southeast, became a pioneer in the state of North Carolina as planting the first (or one of the first) UPC churches in what has become a great district, turning out ministries, such as: Bro. Johnny Garrison and Bro. Wayne Huntley. FTC will go down on record as being the last church that this great man of God started, who celebrated a ministry spanning over six decades. The people and members of FTC, greatly acknowledges and honors our past, while celebrating our present and prepares and plans for our future.
I consider myself, both privileged and blessed, to be a part of the history of the work of God in Trinity. I began in the ministry around 1989 (culminating in 28 years of ministry), with my first message being preached in Grand Rapids, Mn. I am a third generation Pentecostal and have either pastored, or acted as an interim pastor for three churches. I have been privileged to work in most (if not all) offices of the church and have also evangelized as well. I received my call to preach under Founding Pastor Brock.
I do consider myself bi-vocational, in that, I am the Pastor of FTC, while also being an employee of a Chemical Plant in Decatur, Al, having had almost 29 years of service. Concerning education, I am a graduate of East Lawrence High School and hold two degrees: 1). An Associate of Science in Management and Supervision Technology from Calhoun Community College and 2). A Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Athens State University. While at ASU, I also became an understudy in Theology.
Finally, I have a wonderful and blessed family. My beautiful wife of almost 27 years is Amanda (Bennett) Simmons and I have three Children, Dustin (age 19), Colton (age 14) and Kaitlyn (age 12). My family is one of the reasons why I accepted the pastorate in Trinity (approximately 4 years ago). From that time, we have grown from around the lower 20’s (in number), to averaging in the 70’s today. I am deeply grateful and thankful, along with my family, to have been a part of this church’s revival and to have helped lead people to more fulfilling and abundant lives.
On behalf of FTC, I, Pastor Anthony Simmons, invite you to explore this website and discover who we are but strongly encourage and extend an invitation to you for a personal visit, or come be a part of one of our dynamic services. I trust that you too will feel the power and anointing that has helped to set us apart from the status quo. We, are FTC!
